Our ThermoFinnigan Triton TI thermal ionization mass spectrometer allows researchers to perform precise isotopic ratio and isotope dilution analyses of the Ca, Sm-Nd, U-Th, U-Pb, common Pb, and Rb-Sr systems. The IGGRC also houses three class-100 clean laboratories for sample preparation.

Our goal is to promote innovative research in isotope geochemistry and U-Pb geochronology.
The Isotope Geochemistry and Geochronology Research Centre (IGGRC) housed at Carleton University supports the research programs of Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre members and other research collaborators. We provide "hands-on" training for students and other scientists. Researchers will normally provide and analyze their own samples on the mass spectrometer; however, we also carry out contract work for isotope geochemistry utilizing the Ca, Sm-Nd, U-Pb, common Pb, and Rb-Sr isotopic systems. Automated procedures are also available for some isotopic systems.
